Spay & Neuter is the Long-Term Solution to Overcrowded Shelters!
Thanks to a grant from the State of Texas Health and Human Services as well as public donations, we are able to offer No Cost Spay/Neuter Vouchers to Anderson County residents experiencing financial hardship. Please contact the shelter or stop by to apply for a voucher.
Weekdays 12pm -4pm (Closed Thursdays)
The City of Palestine requires all dogs and cats over 4 months old to have an animal license. Come by Anderson County Humane Society to purchase your pet's license!

Make a donation in Honor of or in Memory of a loving pet. These sentiments will hang throughout the shelter through the holidays.
Thank you for participating!

Bring your metal and cans to the shelter. If we are closed, you can place the items on our flatbed trailer in the back of the shelter or next to the fence. The money raised goes to our Medical Fund!

Any local vet will be able to scan for a microchip. If the pet is chipped, they can contact the owner.

Our inventory can change daily, with adoptions, rescue transports or owner recoveries. Please check back regularly every day except Thursdays.

Look for any nearby homes where you found the pet. Ask the homeowners if they recognize the dog or cat. Post signs in the neighborhood with your contact information.

Since we do not euthanize healthy animals to create space in our shelter, we reach full capacity often. We are diligently working to host more adoption events, send dogs to rescues up North, and provide no cost Spay & Neuter to those in need in Anderson County.
